Pop Up Clothes Closet

PROPOSED

In 2006, One Heart Ministries began in First Baptist Conyers as the outreach arm of the church. The mission was to carry the love of God and the service of God into our community for the purpose of building healthy relationships, fostering unity and improving the quality of life. We decided that we didn't want people to have to come to our campus to be impacted by our ministry. Through partnering with local civic and community organizations, law enforcement, other non-profits and churches, school systems and so many others, we were able to successfully take our services into the community.

By taking a shipping container and converting it into a "mobile store," we will be able to transport it right into the heart of targeted service areas to meet the needs there. Homeless families can be served. Poverty stricken families don't have to have money to have good seasonal clothes. Individuals going on job interviews can get quality clothes for that big day. There is so much good that can come from this. The mobile pop up unit will be managed and operated by OHM and will operate on the strength of wonderful volunteers. Our current clothes ministry is located on Culpepper Drive in Conyers and is resourced by the generous donations made by various organizations as well as the people of Rockdale County. We believe that partnerships with the clothing stores will increase dramatically once this new model is launched.
